Passport and visa regulations

In general, passport and visa regulations are the same as those that apply in Denmark. Greenland is, like Norway and Iceland, party to the Schengen Agreement (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greenland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Czech Republic), even though it is not a member of the EU.

Bring your passport with you to Greenland
All travellers to Greenland must have in their possession a valid passport which expires no less than three months after their stay in Greenland. Be prepared to show your passport when entering and leaving the country.

Visa required from certain countries
If you come from a country where a visa is required to enter Denmark, then a visa is also required to travel to Greenland. However, a visa that is valid for Denmark is not automatically valid for Greenland, so a separate visa application needs to be made for Greenland. A visa can be applied for at Danish embassies and agencies.

Invitation letter
The organizers of Polar Fish will ONLY issue invitation letters to visitors who are already known to the organizers. Everybody is welcome to visit the fair, but cannot expect help to implement the visa application.
